Maiden & Spell Update v0.4.6
Hello everyone! This will likely be the last patch for the free demo, unless there are any more critical bugs or things I need to add. There isn't any additional content per say, just a few extra options and quality of life changes ported over from the full game.
The full game's steam page will hopefully be launching fairly soon! So please keep an eye out. As always, you can get notified of that by email or join the Discord server to get an @ mention when it's up.
Without further ado, here's what's different in v0.4.6!
Patch notes
Renamed difficulty modes across the game:
-Easy > Normal
-Normal > Hard
-Hard > Very Hard
(The names have just changed, and the contents, score bonuses, etc. for each have stayed mostly the same)
CHARACTER ADJUSTMENTS
Dreadwyrm Heir's Basic Attack changes
-Bullet speed 10.5 > 12
-Angle between bullets 12 > 13
-Attack Lock between attacks 250ms > 275ms
-Attack Lock after 4th attack 500ms > 650ms
-Movement speed while using the attack .4x > .35x
-Aiming arrow slowdown .5 > .7
Dreadwyrm Heir Defensive Special changes
-Charge time 600ms > 650ms
-Stand time after explosion 550ms > 450ms
-Invincibility time 1350ms > 1225ms
Royal Arcanist Basic Attack
-Time from button press to bullets fired 200ms > 150ms
Royal Arcanist Time Stop
-Speed that clock travels at increased 10%
Adjusted how Royal Arcanist's "Confuse" status effect works.
-Before, your arrow would spin, and Focus Mode would make the spinning slow
-Now, going into Focus Mode will "fix" your arrow, rather than slowing it down.
VISUAL CHANGES
Recolored Royal Arcanist's pallet swap to make it pinker. This is to differentiate the color from future characters.
Recolored default Main Menu color theme and HOF color theme to be darker and easier on the eyes
Brightened the target arrow around the characters for visual clarity
Added damage display when attacking Magnus Barriers
Added remaining HP display to Magnus HP Bar
Added config to toggle damage display
Added option to display AI hotbar (off by default)
STORY MODE CHANGES
"Steelfall" on Normal (previously Easy) is now slightly harder.
"Binary Orbit" on Normal (previously Easy) is now slightly easier. In addition, due to the changes to Confuse, the spell has slighly changed on all difficulties.
"Spiral Flare" on Normal (previously Easy) is now slightly harder.
"Go! Go! Butterfly Swarm" has been made harder on all difficulties.
The tutorial stage has been rewritten to be much shorter.
BUG FIXES
Fixed issue where Stock Bonus would not be correctly added to final score
Fixed issue where certain input instructions would display incorrectly with a PS4 controller
Fixed issue where characters could move after being defeated by a Magnus Attack
Fixed issue where loading screen would not fade in when loading
Fixed issue where Royal Arcanist would occasionally move off screen during her Magnus Attacks
Fixed issue where HOF's Defensive Special would leave behind an invisible hitbox against Magnus Attacks
Fixed issue where HOF's Defensive Special's displayed area of effect was smaller than it's actual hitbox
